Oasis Bike Works Service Menu:

Standard Flat Tire Repair - $12.00

Includes labor, stock tube, and probably at least one bad joke for no extra charge (okay, maybe all of our jokes are bad...you'll see as you read on).

Shifter Adjustment - $15.00/ea $25.00/both

Lose that sluggish feeling and get clean crisp shifting. Bikes with no shifters will likely receive discount.

Cable Replacement - $18.00 (shifters/brakes)

Price is for one cable and required housing; either brake or shifter. Often shifting problems are caused by corroded or dirty cables and housing. For us high cholestorol folk, picture this like putting your cables and housing on an all salad/no steak diet.

Brake Adjustment - $15.00/ea $25.00/both

For some people stopping is important. If you're one of those people, do let us have the honor of giving you that ability!
Adjustment of pad position, cable tension and levers as necessary. For new brake pads and/or cables add cost of pads and/or cables.

Shifter overhaul - $20.00/ea $35/both

When new cables aren’t enough… replace cables, housing, degrease/regrease shifters and adjust derailleurs. We're big fans of keeping old stuff running.

Wheel Truing - $25.00/ea $35.00/both

Adjustment of spoke tension and/or brakes to stop rubbing of brakes on
wheel rim. Done without harming any lab animals...unless you consider our mechanics lab animals!

Basic Tune-Up - $75.00

Includes tuning/adjustment of: shifting, brakes, headset, bottom bracket, hubs, wheel truing (all moving parts) and a chain clean and lube. This is one step before replacing cables. Should that be necessary, see "The Works" (we will evaluate the condition of your cables upon arrival. Approximately half of the bikes we work on need them replaced.)

"The Works" - $90.00

Includes everything you see in the Basic Tune-Up and replacement of all brake and shifter cables for the smoothest operation possible (we will evaluate the condition of your cables upon arrival. Approximately half of the bikes we work on need them replaced.)

Drivetrain clean and lube and Frame Wash - $60.00

Includes cleaning of chain, derailleurs and cassette plus shifter adjusment.
To include replacement of chain and cassette add cost of selected parts only, no additional labor charges here!

Complete Overhaul - $200.00

Complete bike disassembly and rebuilding of bike including: headset, bottom bracket, hubs. We strip the bike down to its bare frame clean, lube and adjust everything with all components refurbished or replaced as necessary. New cables and housing included. Other new parts at MSRP.

Kid Bike Quick Lube - $20.00 (You do love your child, right?)

Keep your child’s bike safe and fun to ride without breaking the bank. Moving parts cleaned and lubed without disassembly, tire pressure and brakes adjusted.

Headset Overhaul - $30.00

If bearing cages replaced - $35.00 (includes cost of new bearings)
For cartridge bearings - add cost of specific cartridge bearings.

No, this isn't what you need to get the best sound from your iPod. The headset is a critical element of your bike which containg the bearings allowing you to steer...see, we told you it's important. After a while, the bearings wear out and a spot can develop where the handlebars "lock" into place from riding mostly straight all of the time. Pick the front of your bike up about 1/2 an inch off the ground (by the frame) and turn your handlebars from side to side. If it's tight all around, or pops in and out of a spot when facing straight it's time for a replacement or and adjustment.

The other test is to grab your front brake and rock the bike back and forth (from front to rear). If there is some play, as in you can feel the bike rocking or clunking, it's time for an adjustment or replacement. If you're just not sure, let us be the judge.

Bottom Bracket Overhaul (for old fashioned cup and bearing types) - $40.00

If new ball bearings replaced - $45.00

To avoid another lengthy description, see that of the Headset Overhaul and do the same tests, just sideways...and without lifting the frame or using the brakes.

BB Replacement (replacement of sealed BB’s) - $40.00

Includes labor and new BB up to $20.00 retail

Bike Assembly and Adjustments (for bikes not bought from us) - $50.00

If you purchased a bike somewhere and it isn't assembled for some reason, or had it packed for shipping, this is what you need. If not, please allow us to go into our department store bike speech:

Try as we might, we can't stop everyone from buying the "unbelievable deal" a department store bike can offer. Unfortunately, a "bike is not just a bike." These bikes are made of very low quality and are typically assembled by a worker who knows nothing about bikes, their safety and the function of certain components. Just google "department store bike" and you'll see a variety of opinions on the subject. If you've already purchased such a bike, at least bring it by for us to look at...we won't charge you for that, it's simply a matter of safety. Sorry, no jokes here! :)

Bike Packing for Shipment - $40.00

Headed on a trip? Moving? Let us professionally pack it for you. This will save you money in the long run by ensuring the bike is packed in such a way that: a.) it will be easy to put back together, b.) will not bend or damage expensive components, c.) will avoid paint damage and d.) allows us to send "messages in a bottle" by hiding notes in the tubes of your frame to be found centuries later by archaeologists admiring our ability to travel without harming the environment and exercising at the same time!

Standard Labor Charge - $60.00/hr if not specified above – don’t panic, lots of stuff takes less than an hour.

For other services, please ask! We can do it all!

Parts: All parts are sold at manufacturers suggested retail price.
